Michael Rowntree

Michael has been married since 2004 to Alicia Rowntree, whom he met in Scotland on a study abroad trip. They have four kids: Anna, Hudson, William, and Molly. He loves to think deeply, read widely, and laugh heartily. Michael graduated from the University of Texas at Austin. At Wellspring Church, he was mentored by Jack Deere, author and former Dallas Theological Seminary professor, and traveled worldwide with Jack training churches in the gifts of the Spirit.

Michael currently leads Convergence OKC, a church of house churches that teaches and equips believers through Word & Spirit. He also serves as Chairman of the Board for the Convergence Church Network. He formerly pastored at Wellspring Church in Texas for seventeen years, serving as the Lead Pastor there for ten years, and also at Bridgeway Church in Oklahoma City.

No matter where he has served, God has consistently used him as a teacher, a pastor, and a leader. As a teacher, he loves to study God’s Word and bring it to life in a way that displays God’s beauty and desire for friendship. As a pastor, his heart beats for the sheep – to lay his life down for them, every day. As a leader, God has gifted him to envision a better tomorrow and invite people on a journey to discover it.
